In this week's farm boxes:

Braeburn Apples, Avocados, Fair Trade Bananas, Navel Oranges, Leeks, Asparagus, Green Garlic and Baby Spinach.

Here's my version of the recipe we included this week to use four of our ingredients - asparagus, spinach, leeks and green garlic. If you don't have or can't find the recipe - click on the Recipe link on the sidebar.

We had it for dinner...it sort of tasted like a lighter version of a spinach/asparagus lasagna. I ate way too much.

We were extremely lucky this week to have gotten a case of the green garlic from Riverdog Farm. We're always searching for great seasonal fruits and veggies, and were very excited about this one.

Otter Orchard is a fundraiser to help defray costs to send the Fifth graders on their annual field trip to the Gold Country. In years past, there have been pizza sales after school. However, in light of new OUSD food sales rules, we needed to explore new opportunities. Selling produce gives us a healthy alternative that kids and parents enjoy. We sell 100% organic produce from 1-3 pm on Wednesdays, unless there’s heavy rain forecasted. Additionally, we sell farm boxes for $20, with price discounts for weekly or bi-weekly orders.
